To all Dover-Sherborn Youth Lacrosse Players & Parents,
The 2010 DS Youth Lacrosse season will open this month for all DSYL Teams--except for our U9/Instructional teams which will start in late April. This spring DSYL will field a total of 15 teams from U9 to U15. The season will begin indoors starting March 16th.All team rosters and team contacts will soon be posted and available for viewing at www.dsyl.org. We will play outdoors as soon as the weather permits and once the fields our officially opened by Park & Recreation.
For parents new to DSYL, we have included a brief power point presentation that is on line under “Documents” for all teams. This will give parents a quick over view of the Dover Sherborn lacrosse program and the great game of lacrosse.
Your team managers will be the person to contact with any questions, they are there to help you. They will be sending out an email with more details regarding rosters, practice times, game schedules, uniforms, etc. in the days ahead. Please thank them! They do a lot to make the season run smoothly.
DSYL begins 2010 on very stable financial ground. The refining of the DSYL web site has made billing and communication much easier. Each year we try to make the web site better and make the lives of parents in DSYL a little less hectic. New this year is the DSYL swap exchange where people can buy and sell used lacrosse equipment. This is great way to get your son outfitted for the sport. (And pass on equipment your son has outgrown). We will also have the complete game schedules for both MBYL and TPL (Tournament Town Pride League for 6th, 7th and 8th graders) on line for easy access.
Another exciting addition this year is a mentoring program with the HS players. Right now we have over 9 players willing to help with the DS youth program. It is our desire to begin fostering the spirit of the game through HS participation in our youth program. It is our firm belief that this mentoring program will help everyone enjoy and spread the fun of playing lacrosse at all ages. Each mentor will receive a gift at the end of the year and one senior player will receive a scholarship through DSYL for his exemplary dedication to the youth lacrosse program.
To close, the DS Lacrosse community has a lot to be proud of. A great High School lacrosse team, good coaching and a great bunch of kids, I assure you that the board of directors will continue to do as much as possible to foster the spirit of the game in all DS lacrosse endeavors. Thanks so much for your continued support and participation. Please do not hesitate to contact any of the board members to discuss an idea or issue that you feel is important.

Are you looking for lax equipment for you son? Is your son new to lacrosse? Has he shot up 3+ inches this past year and nothing fits?
DSYL has an option for you to purchase or sell used lax equipment (in good condition of course!).
Off to the left of our website is a tab "Exchange" if you click on it, families can load items for sale/donations or items they may be looking for. Why not help out another DSYL family, don't take your old equipment to the dump "swap" shop, keep it in the DSYL family!!!!
The season will be starting the week of 3/13, don't hesitate any longer, it is right around the corner!!
More info regarding teams and schedules will be posted within the next week.
